Hi,

I have a modded Xbox (Xecuter3, slayers autoinstaller, xbox v. 1.6) and recently lent it to a friend. upon return I find that the video output, although somewhat visible, is f'd up. The video comes through in black and white, and scrolls quickly up and down on the screen, making it impossible to navigate. From my experience in the past I think that the problem is the output is set to PAL instead of NTSC. to fix this, since my xbox is basically useless as it sits, i decided that I would use slayer's auto install disk 2.6 to fix the problem, because on the install disc there is a "video mode changer". Here is where it gets tricky. The video mode changer on the disk is "disabled" to prevent people from accidentaly switching their video mode. To enable it I believe I need to edit the ".ini" file for the disk, which i have already extracted. Unfortunatly, I dont know jack about ini files so I have no idea what to edit. Here is an excrept from the ini that pertains to my issue:

Item "5b11) Flash MOD or v1.0-1.5 TSOP w/ X2-4983.06 OFFICIAL",@278
Line "------------------------------------",2
Line "- TSOP Needs Both Bridge Points on MB!-",1
}
Line "- Read FLASH Tutorials First! -",1
}
}

Line "------------------------------------",2

Line "- Video Switcher Options Disabled. Edit to Enable! -",1
# Section "6) NTSC <-> PAL VIDEO MODE SWITCHER"
# {
# Line "--- W A R N I N G! ---",1
# Line "-- USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! --",1
# Item "6a) USA - NTSC (use 6-4 if this fails)",@ID_Reg_NA
# Item "6b) JAP - NTSC (use 6-4 if this fails)",@ID_Reg_J
# Item "6c) EUR - PAL (use 6-4 if this fails)",@ID_Reg_ROW
# Item "6d) NTSC <-> PAL VIDEO MODE SWITCHER","D:\SYSTEM\ALL\f\Apps\NTSC-PAL\default.xbe"
# Line "--------------------------",1
# }
Line "------------------------------------",2
Item "7) Identify Your BIOS/Mod Chip","D:\SYSTEM\ALL\f\Apps\BiosCheck\default.xbe"
Line "------------------------------------",2

Now obviously I am getting close. So I need for someone with the knowlege and expertise to help me figure out what to edit. once I do that I will have one more problem, outlined below:

Assuming I ever figure out how to edit the disk, I will need to run it in the Xbox. Unfortunatly my Xbox is set to go to the Evox dash even when a disk is inserted. If I remember correctly there is a combonation of buttons that can be pressed at startup to go directly to disk, but I have no idea what this combo is. If anyone knows the combonation, or has another workaround, please let me know.

Thank you for reading this whole mess, and I appreciate all the help. Thanks.

A simpler method is to download Enigmah video Switcher and copy it to a disc.
than pop the disk in your xbox and press [B] on your xbox controller and restart your xbox.

i know it sounds Fake but its true. same thing happened to me and this is how i fixed it. if you got any questions just reply in another post
