I was going to install "XBOX media centre" and then i discovered you could get Linux on your box!
I am really unsure about which one to get.
I will mainly be using it for gaming and multimedia, not so much internet, if that is any help. What is the primary OS/dash that you guys are using?

decisions decisons...lol

Avalaunch is a good dash for FTP,ing between pc n box, media center is good if your just gaming and using media like video pics and music (great if your vids are in data format or AVI) Evox is the one i use currently as i can switch between apps easly. my advice is to try a few and choose which one suits you and what your needs are when using your box.

I prefer UnleashX, but for gaming and Multimedia, Xbox Media Center all the way

Here's a tut on how to make XBMC your default dash.

i use Evox
i like it alot but i may switch to xbmc as i use it 24 7
if i was you use xbmc as it allows you to play dvds as well with no control pad
plus its easy to explore

xbmc
play back up games
copy games to hd easyer
ftp
play dvds with no control pad just use your playing pad
emulators
feels better and more control on its feel
change led light on the xbox
change more settings
music player
skins
basicly xbmc rocks

It seems XBMC is superior to the others, well atleast in the case of a good over-all, multi function dash. I might try them all out though...lol.
I didn't know you could have more than 1 dash on your XBOX at a time, and can toggle between them...cool!
Anyone tried Linux on their XBOX yet?

XBMC is the best all around dashboard, although it can be a bit of a mess installing it as your default dash.

If I were you, I'd install all of the ones you're trying to choose between as applications and once you figure out which one you like most, then go ahead and switch over.

I haven't bothered with Xbox Linux, but one of the people that used to post on this board used to post using while using it.

Thanks goes out to theridges for the userbars :)

XBMC is the best dashboard the only problem is its code gets updated everyweek and it has some bugs every now and then to i dont set it as my default dash because of that....i have heard about peoples freezing up and not booting ect...i use UnleashX for my default and have XBMC that i open after it boots which is great...Unleashx and XBMC are my 2 favorite, EvoX is out of date but Avalaunch is a great app aswell..
