I am a little new to messing around in my xbox. I have successfully backed up games to the 80Gb HD that I had added to my xbox. Recently the newer games liek Red Faction, Wolverine, Enter the matrix, Brute Force all have a problem loading when I run them from the HD. I have Evox V2.4 running as my dashboard and boXplorer as the file manager. On my PC I just downloaded FlaskFXP all I need to know is where there is a patch, if any, and how to use it. Also what ever other techiques could I use to fix the problem of having to always boot from the disks I bought. (I.e. the copy to PC HD and change file name lengths)

Thanks

Tremor

I have Red Faction on my harddrive. All i did was put the game from my PC with FlashXP to my Xbox harddrive. I haven't tried any of the other games you mentioned, but i do nknow that Red Faction will work.

When I have done backups in the past, all I have done is put the disk into the Xbox and copy using boXplorer. I just learned how to ftp into the thing last week. My backup does not work without the disk.

there is a wonderful patching program (plus lots more) called craxtion. you can patch any default.xbe so that it will run off the hard drive. Older games don't need patched but I have had to patch matrix, nba street vol2, the sims, and a few others. Once you have the program, go into the tools menu, the only option is the patcher, and point to the default.xbe on your hard drive, then overwrite the one on you xbox hard drive an play away.

hope this helps

Thanks. I downloaded Craxtion and I already have WinRAR but something is not working. When I try to extract it with WinRAR it comes up with an error. Is there another patcher or is there something I am doing wrong

go here http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/evox-flash.php for a tute on how to flash your bios. keep in mind i don't know what chip you have(i have an xecuter2). i found the process easier than the tute suggested and didn't have to worry about steps 2 & 3. the bios can be found at http://www.biteable.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/
I am sure some of the patching utilities i have are good but i have never had to use them (not yet anyway) :) btw the latest bios was 4977 not 4277 whoops

Enter the Matrix wont run from the hard drive without twa patches applied to it.I have not seen anyone get through the entire game yet without the patches. It is due to the file format on the Matrix disc. But those other games will work with a BIOS flash.Try Xecuter2 4977.Thats the newest version.

PS2 w/Messiah Pro2
PS2 v7 & v5 w/Swap Magic 2.0 & No-SolderPNP

XBOX Apple X3 160GB HD w/EvoX M7 BIOS
XBOX TSOP Flash w/X2 4977 BIOS
