I read that the XBOX has used several different types of CD drives in it's lifespan and that the Samsung one is the best as it reads all discs and media without fail. Can anyone advise on what models, or anything else to look out for to get a Samsung drive?
I believe they have several holes in the CD drive whereas, the crap ones have one big hile in the middle. Do the new version 6 XBOX consoles have the Samsung drive?
Why does Microsoft have to be so inconsistent and cheap by cutting costs this way?!? It is just very low of them, shame on them.

The 2 holes on either side of the Samsung drive are a distinguishing characteristic, makes it easy to identify. Thanks for sharing.
