my gf has a mac for a comp and we are trying to back up her movies at her house, usualy she just brings them over to my place but it would be easier and quicker if she could do it at her spot. i tried to get shrink and dvdfab but i don't think they work well on a mac. does anyone know of a mac program for ripping and burning that are just as good as all the other programs out there. i hate how macs are different in the programs they can run!

Try using MacTheRipper - version 2.6.6

MacTheRipper is a free DVD ripper (extractor) for Mac OS X. It can extract commercial DVD movies to your hard drive, minus all the copy protections and region controls put in place by DVD publishers. You can then use various tools to burn the movie back to DVD-R for use in DVD players, or convert the movie to different formats for playback with a variety of devices.

You can get it here:

Or here:

Use Anydvd and believe

You can use any one of these two applications/programs, but these are not fee (one does come with a free trial).

With DVD2one you can make a movie-only or full disk copy of your DVD for personal use on a single DVD-Recordable.

OR

Popcorn? 2
Convert movies to iPod, PSP & 3GP (phone)
Make back up copies of all your DVDs
Compress dual layer DVDs to fit onto single layer DVDs
Play back your movies with Dolby® Digital support

Toast should also burn it to dvd. It may already be on her mac, since it has a burner.

Didn't Toast come on the computer? If not, what burning software came with the burner? On a mac, you usually get Toast Lite, but should work.
