I am trying to make a backup of my newest DVD and am having trouble. I used DVDFab Decrypter 2.9.8.3 followed by DVD Shrink 3.2. I have previously had great success using these two programs.

During the process I did not receive any error messages. When testing the new burned backup copy, there is no video - only sound. I would greatly appreciate any assistance. Thank you

I am burning LOST Season 2 also. I have had NO Problems at all.

Use this:

Run AnyDVD in background and rip to hard drive using DVD Decrypter.
Then Recode and burn with Nero Recode 2.

You should have no problems.

Good Luck!

I always have AnyDVD running. I rip the dvd with VOBB and at the same time blanking all those annoying screens, trailers and other shite that I don't want.

I then open the files with Shrink, compress, and burn.

You don't have to do all that i do, as any combination of the aforementioned programs should get the job done, but yeah, it worked.

Personally, I would never trust Shrink alone with AnyDVD. So unless you use a regularly updated program (like DVDFab), then you're gonna need something like AnyDVD. I just read that there's a couple of newer/beta versions of DVDFab. I dunno if the one you have is the latest one (I don't use DVDFab regularly).

@AvoleseSH

a fairly simple first effort would be to run your fab output file through VobBlanker prior to re-trying shrink. fab does a great job decrypting, but you will need something to correct structural problems in some current dvds. a one-click way to go would be to use ripit4me. check out the downloads and guides below. these are all freeware. AnyDVD is a great tool that is reasonably priced and has a 21 day free trial available.

I burned the whole season 2 of lost...... I used AnyDVD + DVDDecrypter to rip...... then used DVDRemake to take out all the unwanted shite that I don't want and then used DVDRebuilder Pro with CCE to get the best quality you can get with an encoder....... all my disks came out great:

my printer printed real good onto my Verbatim hub printables

Thanks to all of you for your help. I was finally able to make backups of Lost - Season 2. I downloaded AnyDVD as suggested, in addition to the VobBlanker program. I found the instructions elsewhere in the forums by "Alkohol" for using VobBlanker.

With AnyDVD running in the background, I ripped it with DVDFab Decrypter and then ran it through VobBlanker. I then used the DVD Shrink program and burned my backup copy.

Thanks again. I couldn't have done it without you.

Glad you got your backup, but it is better not to use these programs together. Use one or the other as you can sometimes get conflicts.

It's true that you can sometimes get a conflicting problem, but I've yet to get one. But I know that in the rare event that one or the other (AnyDVD and DVDFab) don't work, I know to disable one of them.
