cowboy bebop remixed volume 6
i have a 1.8 ghz pentium 3 80 gb hard drive running windows xp.

i am using the latest version of AnyDVD along with: dvdshrink, and dvdecrypter.

no matter what i try, i still get the aforementioned error. the disc has some LIGHT scratches, nothing worse than i have encountered before.

with shrink i get as far as 70% before it craps out. i tried to just rip the files of the episodes with decrypter, but shrink can't find the file (ISO?)that was ripped.

hopefully that is a good enough explanation. thanks in advance to all that help!!

That is a pretty good initial explanation lol.

Anyway, that is odd that the latest version of AnyDVD isn't doing it for you.

Since Shrink is working with AnyDVD, try DVDFab decryptor. I'm quite certain you won't need AnyDVD running. DVDFab usually works. You can download it for free.

You could also try to rip it with Decryptor's file mode, but if Shrink with AnyDVD didn't work, Decryptor with AnyDVD probably won't work.

Another option is Vob Blanker. That always works for me.

Others have used the ripper found in AnyDVD but I've yet to do that.

And if all that fails, just get a replacement--it's not worth that hassle of going through aforementioned steps and looking for other alternatives.

I may have read your post wrong, but are you running AnyDVD at the same time you use Decrypter?? If so only use one or the other. Sometimes running both is overkill. AnyDVD at times doesn't like to play right with Decrypter. Its usually good with Shrink. If it keeps stopping at the same place or percentage it may be a defect in the original. It doesn't always have to be a scratch or chip, it could be a spot of corrupt data. In most cases a dvd player will play over that spot, but when ripping it the problem will show up. There is a setting in Decrypter you can check that says "USE BRUTE FORCE" if I remember right. That may help.

Try and play it back now and see if there is a hiccup because of that one spot. I've done that once or twice but one of my dvd players (a sony model) will get stuck on it but if i forward through it (by frame), it doesn't pose as a problem.

This is why I don't mention brute force or skipping it. Some guys are anal about that lol.
