hi, i have trouble coding alot of my videos using TMPEG enc.. so i was told to download ACE codec back (before this i always always had the k-lite codec pack, the mega or the full one.. but always up to date).. but the ace codec pack changed nothing.. so since i removed it and reinstalled my k-lite codec pack, i can no longer play WMV files.. not with classic windows player or windows media player.. so.. if anyone can help me out.. id appreciate it..

thank you

wait... what ?

http://avicodec.duby.info/

Download the above , drag a .wmv file onto the window and look on the lower area under video to see if you have the rquired codec in place.
Example:
Video : 6.31 MB, 365 Kbps, 9.772 fps, 320*240 (4:3), WMV3 = Windows Media Video 9, Supported

The 'supported' indicates the codec is available to play this file.If it isn't supported you have to download the required codec. In this case it would be the "Windows Media Video 9" codec that was missing.

Don't know if this will work but it can't hurt trying.
Open Windows Media Player. Click on Tools and then Options. Then put a check in Download codecs automatically. Close program. Open program and try to play your file.
Edit:
Maybe this will help.

If it's a codec problem, you may have to let WMP download the codec for you. There is a setting where you can allow this.

Try searching and downloading the latest windows media codec, that would probably be the easiest solution.
