Booting HDL iso using retail hdloader.

I have a retail hdloader but no ps1 disk on an unmodded v4 ps2. I read somewhere that i can load an iso say HDL_0.8B cd iso onto my hdd(i use winhiip) and then boot up with retail HDL and choose this iso after that.

I tried it(sks apps iso) but got just a black screen. Any idea what i'm doing wrong? I tried mode 3 still back screen. Pls help.

ok something wrong with the iso from sks site...i loaded a .7c iso from another source and it sorta worked. Any ideas? What is that dummy file...coz my .7c was only 2megs...no dummy file.

...when i run .7c it shows all my games on the hdd but once i choose a game, black screen again

Some games require that certain modes be set. Make sure you have the proper modes set before you try to launch the game.

i've tried several games..even games that work on my retail HDL with no modes.
