I have spent several hours reading these threads on PS 2's, modchips, and Swap Magic. I have messed with computers for years but am brand new to the Gaming scene as my 6 year old and wife have finally begged me into one. However, I don't want my 6 year old scraching up my $30-$60 discs so want to back them up. I am not comfortable with my soldering capabilities, based on my past experiences so was looking at Swap Magic 3.6. My ? is, does using Swap Magic work on my brand new PS2, Model #75001, and will it alter the operating system in any way that might make some changes irreversible?

Swapmagic with magickey is the way to go and the cheapest.if you go with modchip youwill also have to upgrade your laser to or it will cause problems in the long run, even thought I don't know much about the ps2 slim I have also read about the tape and tissue mod. Again some will correct me if I'm wrong.
