Good Morning all,
I was wondering I am running Windows Xp Home Edition on botha a laptop and a pc,I have wireless connections and I was wondering if I can use a wireless usb connecter to print from my wireless laptop to the printer?
To clarify if i put the wireless usb connecter to my printer can i detect it from my laptop and print to it or do i need something more specialized in order to do this...

if your running a network then you should be able to print from your notebook (laptop). Just go to your network where you have your printer inastalled and select that printer, from there it will install drivers on your notebook to print wirelessly.

If im confusing you let me know, lol

Thanks Geestar20,
I guess i might have left a few things out,i do not have any of the computers networked.
But what I do go and do was buy a usb wireless adapter for my Cannon Printer but only to discover that it would not support it.I realized to late that this was not compatible.
I can take it back to the store but I decided to come to the group one more time and pose another question.
The printer has the standard connecter from printer to computer ot laptop to USB now Is there anyway to bridge this gap without going out and buying another printer that may be designed for this purpose?

I understand what you're asking. I'm not sure why your printer was not compatible with the printserver adapter you bought, that's weird.

However.

The easiest way to do what you want to do is to connect the printer to EITHER computer and install it, then share it. That way any computer on your network could print to it. The downside is that it must be connected to the computer, and that computer must be ON.

There's no gap because the printer needs somethign to tell it how to print--text/images don't get sent to it as text and images.

Sorry mate, and good luck. There are, btw, a large selection of wireless printers out there now, though, that are standalone wireless and require no adapter.
