Me and my friend have been struggling and reading and reading to exploit the PS2 and we can't seem to get it.

My friend has the Action replay max EVO edition, and the PS2 hard drive.

We have sucessfully expoited it I guess, using the AR Max, and a PS1 game, Madden 01 or 02 or whatever.

Out of the multitude of different programs out there, I'm using something called Adam and Tom's PS2Menu, which that successfully boots up, and then from there I guess we can load .elf files and games?

But I have put a whole buch of .elf files on a USB memory stick, and the Action replay max cannot read these .elf files, only .max files, and the PS2Menu thing only reads from Memory Card or the PS2 Hard drive, which we cannot get these elf files onto them.

But I guess more importantly, the Action replay max has the PGEN Genesis emulator, which doens't work either. I have burned 2 CD-R discs, using the AR MAx MEdia creator on the computer, I add emulator like it says, and then add a list of the .ROM or .SMC genesis game files on the disc, and have let both the Media Creator program burn it to disc, and also let it burn a .iso image file, and use Nero to burn it, and then it doesn't read the discs.

I thought using the Media Creator software, the AR Max says you can burn any CD and the PS2 will read it, but it's not happening for us...

What are we doing wrong? and can someone give me a step by step guide to make a playable Genesis ROms on the PS2, and how to successfully copy backup games?

I have a burnt copy of Breth of Fire 4, that reads fine in the computer, but again, the disc cannot be read by the PS2.

Obviously, you know how to do the exploit. Try using KeyLauncher as your BOOT.ELF. It comes with a file manager and allows you to transfer files to/from the hdd/usb/mc/cd easily. You can also load elfs from any of the above devices. I have been using KeyLauncher since I first exploited my PS2 and I love it. Most people will recommend Launchelf as being the best, but everyone has their own opinions on it. I prefer KeyLauncher.

As far as the rest, I cant really help ya there. I never used PGEN, even though I have an AR Max.

Good luck.
