Hiya, all.
First off, I'm giving fair warning, I'm still a n00b at this.
Got me a PS2 v7 39001 "Chubby" w/ Network Adaptor and Sony PS2 HDD, and no mod-chip. I got the MC exploit working fine, but now I want to add some more partitions for stuff like DivX files (*.AVI)

I d/l'd DMS HDD Format tool, understanding that I could make/delete/expand partitions with that.

I tried running it from the HDD, and the memory card, and get the same error both ways: FILESYSTEM LIST NOT FOUND.

I googled that, and came up empty. I scanned all the forums that MIGHT contain some info, still no joy.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

MORE INFO:
I CAN'T put the PS2 HDD in my computer. I have a laptop w/ only one HDD connector, and it takes 2.5" drives. A USB HDD housing is WAY more than I wanted to spend, and I don't want to wipe the drive clean (FFXI is on there...), I just want to add some partitions.

Let me try. Is DMS still loading, just not showing anything. How did you format the H.D? What is the elf name HDDF48.elf 122kb or HDDFRMT.elf 147kb? I had problem a while back trying to use DMS. I formated with WinHIIP 48 bit. Turned out i needed to use the HDDF48 elf. Still learning myself. Maybe this will help.

Side note. If looking to use PC for PS2 H.D. Look at a small HDD encloseure. No fan, No built in P.S. Etc I just wanted the adaptor. Since the H.D. isn't going to be out all that long i don't put it in the case. Quick,Easy,Cheap. I got 1 for like 10.00 bucks shipped.

Ok, let's try and take these one at a time:

The HDD was formatted w/ the Sony HDD Utility Disk, since it's a PS2 OEM HDD, bundled w/ the MMORPG: Final Fantasy XI. (and yes, I wanna keep it intact...)

the ELF is the HDDF48 @ 121k, and according to the threads I have read so far, it's supposed to work.

(Sometimes it's an unrealistic expectation, having a n00b read THOUSANDS of posts, most of them nothing more than "My Mod is, like, way totally more uber-1337 than anything YOU can do"...)

I guess the only other item left would be the fact that in order for the drive to be recognized by my PC, no matter what kind of enclosure, or adaptor I used, would mean a reformat, and complete data wipe... Which would be a situation of total sUx0r-ness.

I'm looking into RealityPlayer PRO, maybe it will not require a new partition, or be capable af creating it's own... Will post news as it happens...

How are you trying to load the DMS Elf?

I guess that depends on what you mean by load.
I have a copy in mc0:/BADATA_SYSTEM, and one in pfs0:/+MYPS2/PROGRAMS/HDDF48

I have tried RUNNING the elf from both folders, and get the following error: FATAL ERROR Failed to load file list
( or something an awful lot like that...)

Right now, I'm moving files back and forth between PC and PS2 using MyPS2 v1.2 built in FTP and FLashFTP client for the PC

JUST now loaded MediaPlayer PRO into it's own directory in pfs0:+MYPS2, so gonna give it a shot now... Will report back...

If its not even showing the DMC load screen and you get that message, you might have a bad elf. Maybe reload it, or download again and reload. I have both versions I could send if you would like to give it a try. Just PM me. Hopefully it all gets workin for ya.

Had some of that stuff working a long time ago. Had to pull it off since i was running out of HD space. I have 2 HD now so about time to put that all back on.

Ok, well...
At least I can get RealityMediaPlayerPro running from the HDD, now all I have to do is find a way to get the AVI files over to the HDD... FTP in both LaunchELF and MyPS2 seem to quit after a little while, and the files I want to move are about 700MB...

Thanx for the offer, Buga, but I had already thought of that. I'm on my third install of DMS HDD tool... *sigh*

O.T. now, but...
If someone could explain a way for me to burn a CD that RealityMediaPlayer can read... AND the correct technique for swapping it with my Exploit Trigger disc... (LOL broke my home made swap card... Need to make another...)

Sorry it isn't working. I have the same model ps2. I have always had a hard time with FTP. Tried and tried. Have you used it for other games or anything over 600mb before? It would work for me up until 600mb. Anything over that it would frezze. Even though DMS tool is small maybe its not tranfering right. Have you tried to burn it like the exploit and run DMS from disc? (home made swap card, make 2 at a time. Wal-mart gift cards make good ones lol, your choice of colors.)

Not sure about O.T. Hopefully someone alittle more knowledgeable (smarter)will come along for that one.
