@namtaf -

Take a look here: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/...vd-r_review.cfm

Personally, I've never heard of this brand (Tuffdisc). TDK (MIJ) is a good disc. Just stay in touch here and hopefully there'll be a more difinitive answer for you.

Cheers!

Ron

edit: You will not go wrong with Verbatim, TY, Sony (MIJ), or Fuji (MIJ).

What does MIJ mean? Is it made in Japan or what?
Thanks!

MIJ stands for Made in Japan and MIT stands for Made in Taiwan.

Normally the best ones are those made in Japan for example TY or some other brands manufactured by the SAME TY(Sony,Fuji and Verbatim on some very rare occasions)

If you can't find any MIJ medias and have to purchase MIT ones, then go only for verbatim(MCC)as it's the best MIT media out there.

You won't go wrong with any genuine TY media.

The digitalfaq ratings are misleading and out of date. Recommendations from members of afterdawn are far more useful and accurate (even if the condemnations are not).

Agreed with JoeRyan and daman 1.

Opinions and recommendations here in AD are much better that those in digitalfaq. Here there's constant updates and reviews concerning medias unlike digitalfaq which can be misleding too.

namtaf- as they other members have said " taiyo yudens or verbatims" both top choices - the Taiyo Yudens can be found marketed as Sony's Mij (Made In japan ) or under the taiyo yuden name online ! Verbatims are markedted as Verbatim media easy choice ! But here is a quick rundown - My opinion for what it's worth ! choices for media

1. taiyo yuden or Verbatim
2.Made in japan ( Maxell /Sony /Fuji)
3.Ritek -( some Maxells /OfficeDepot/ &Ritek branded disc)
4. Ricohjpn ( Officepot/some Tdk disc...ect.).
in additiom some have used Sony Made in taiwan media with some measure of succsess ! Though The Japanese Made Sony's - Taiyo Yuden made are to be prefered if available ! Hope this helps a lttle Good luck & happy burning !

Joshewah- Your right they are ! I just explained myself wrong! I could have made the list shorter by putting order better like ( Taiyo Yuden, Verbatims , Maxell-MIJ'S ) ect... I'm perfectly happy with the Mij maxells ! But although they sometimes easier to find than the Mij Fuji's - are like they Mij sony's Hard to find on sale ! 1. taiyo yuden or Verbatim -Made in japan ( Maxell /Sony /Fuji
2.Ritek -( some Maxells /OfficeDepot/ &Ritek branded disc)
3. Ricohjpn ( Officepot/some Tdk disc...ect.). There I have Amended my ways amen...lol ! hope that's better ! Ciao!
