can someone please tell me how to backup my pc games? ive been told i need so many different things, & ive now bought the full versions of these...poweriso, magiciso, folder2iso, Alcohol 120%, Nero 7 ultra, roxio easy media creator 7, dvdclone2, dvd region & css free, DVD Shrink 3.2, gamejack 5, clonyxxl, protection id, clonyxxl, & a-ray scanner. i wnat to back up my games as my kids have ruined my playststion2, gamecube, psp, & ds games, by not putting them in their cases. surely i have something i can copy games with now. i would really appreciate some help here as ive tried almost everything i can think of. thanks
ok thanks. it is pc games i want to back up. namely far cry(which is too big to put onto a 4.7gb DVD-R) F.E.A.R, oblivion, quake 4 & doom 3.. i recently got gamejackal which lets you play your pc games without the disks in the pc. but i still want to back them up in case anything happens to the original disks... any help is appreciated.. thanks
I used Games x-copy to do far cry. All the others i did I used
Alcohol 120%, ARay scanner, ClonyXXL, Blindwrite, BWA builder and Orca.
1st you need to scan your game with Aray scanner to see what kind of protection it has. Then you Select the data type you need from the drop down menu on the first screen in the image making wizard in
Alcohol 120%. Set your read speed (I usually read at about 8-10) and select your drive. Click next. On this screen you need to select a location to save the image to. So do so.
When you have successfully made an image load it onto a virtual drive
(Alcohol gives you up to 30ish) and see if it works. If it does, Use the image burning wizard to burn to disc. You need to be sure to select the same data type you selected when you made the image before you burn. This is so the protection you needed to get past will be on the backup. The game won't work w/o the protection.
I just keep images on an external and pull them over to my laptop when I want to play. They also work from the external. Hope this helps.
OK THANKS. WHEN I PUT IN A PC GAME & TRY TO CREATE AN IMAGE USING Alcohol 120%, I CANT SELECT THE DATATYPE. IT APPEARS FOR ABOUT A SECOND THEN DISAPPEARS AGAIN. WHERE WOULD I GET GAMES X-COPY, BWA BUILDER & ORCA? & ARE ANY OF THESE FREE AS I HAVE PURCHASED TONS OF STUFF IN THE LAST MONTH OR TWO TO COPY GAMES INCLUDING Alcohol 120%, CloneDVD, Blindwrite, GAMEJACK 5, GAMEJACKAL, POWERISO, ULTRAISO, MAGIACISO, ISOBUSTER & VARIOUS OTHER PROGRAMS.. I ALSO HAVE CLONYXXL, PROTECTION ID, A-ARAY SCANNER, Daemon Tools, SAFEDICC 4 HIDER, CD IMAGE CONVERTER, FASTMOUNT & VARIOUS OTHERS.. ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED. THANKS
