Greetings I've just joined this site because I have notice a lot of issues referring to Win RAR. I have such a problem. I have downloaded 8 of 9 parts to a music video that I really want to see. The problem being that #9 was deleted and I am not able to contact the uploader for help. Is there any way I can get the Win RAR program to just combine the parts 1 through 8 and do without the (now unavailable) part 9 ? I'm guessing no, but if by come chance I can, I'll watch this thread w/ fingers crossed... thanks to anyone making the effort !!

Sure. There is an option somewhere. Default is to not extract incomplete files though. I use 7-zip myself since its default is to extract incomplete files. You will be missing the end though and if it is an AVI you would need to reindex.

In WinRAR's extraction screen check the box, "Keep Broken Files". That'll preserve whatever it can.

If there are PAR or PAR2 files available, or a .REV file, you might be able to reconstruct the missing part. The former is common and uses Quickpar to do the recovery.

-Do you believe you own your computer and shouldn't be told what you can run and do? Then say *NO* to Microsoft Vista!
-Since half the questions here involve media problems, here ya go: Only use Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden discs (get your TYs from Rima.com, not Supermediastore or meritline). Forget the rest, no matter what "brand" they sell under. Always burn at 4x speed regardless of the speed rating of this discs or your drive. If you have burn problems with these then you have to update your drive's firmware. For double-layer discs, only use Verbatim DVD+R DL and burn them at 2.4x speed.
