I don't know if this is the correct forum, but I am having trouble backing up my south park season 3 dvd. The first disc backed up fine, but my drive won't recognize the other two discs, as in 'please insert disc', when the discs are in fact in my drive. They play fine in my stand alone, but not in my computer.
?????????????????
So I have a question for anyone that has this dvd, (South Park Season 3), and if you could send me a PM, I will let you know what the question is.
Thank you.
Shawn.

first off it's against forum rules to put in your email address......if a mod sees this you can be reprimanded. You don't want someone that spams send you crap to your email addresses! It's really for your own protection. use the edit button on the top right corner of your post that is the pen and paper icon..... take out your email addresses.

ok....... one disk worked the others are not being recognized...... there are a # of things that could be wrong..... first and foremost might be smudges or fingerprints on the disks that's not letting the drive recognize your disks. next could be a bad press that is blocking the drive from reading the disks. Funny that it plays on your stand alone player and not in your computer..... usually it's the other way around if it has reading problems. or try a reboot and attempt it again. Anyother thing is: what programs are you using to backup these disks?

Thanks for the heads up. I guess I am used to some other boards where you didn't have to worry about that.

The discs were pretty clean. I wiped them down carefully. Reboots did not help either. I also had somepeople at work try and they got the same issues. And it also did not work a week later when I got them back. So I am beginning to think it is a bad press.

I am going to try different copies and see what happens. This has really peaked my curiousity.

WinXP > RipIt4Me* > DVD Decrypter > Fix VTS 1.403* > DVD Shrink.
