Hello all i recently purchased a sony high speed pro duo 4gb Model MSX-M4GN I tried to load a rom using the latest Devhook and it keeps crashing on me it freezes when entering the 2.71 dash. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
It would figure any chance you could link me to one of those threads youve spotted in looking into it i came up with nothing toward past troubles of others. Any leads would be appreciated. Who knows maybe there is a firm fix out there somewere.

i havent had this problem because i use the 2 gig stick but I have read in a couple other threads that people are also having problems with their 4 gig. It's odd because I got my 4GB HDD to work with devhook.

Well in playing with the options ive gotten a little further on some of the roms Y's ark for instance allows me to load into the console at least but when i go to load the rom it just sits at black screen blinking the memory light. Any ideas guys or were i can find a contact for the Devhook creator to give him an idea that there could be a problem with 4gb card loading?
I adjusted my settings for Devhook.46
from:
UMD Mode: ISO ANY
UMD VER. 2.xx to 2.0
Firm 2.71
CPU 333
Boot Reboot XMB
To:
UMD Mode: ISO ANY
UMD VER. No Change
Firm 2.71
CPU 222
Boot Reboot XMB

NO, NO, NO... I have TWO 4GB sticks. DevHook and my memory sticks get along famously.
EDIT: Btw, no. You can't contact Booster anymore b/c all of his 5hit is done offline now. Just format your MS and try again.

In addition it seems that i might have been duped into buying a fake. Man am i supid ohh well. Since i work in a law field this is gonna be fun. Im going to send him an email from work and see what kind of reaction i get from the legal doctorine thrown at the bottom of each of our confidential correspondence. It might just make me laugh to see the con man squirm.

Bought a new 4gb Sandisk Ultra II today and it scared me at first. Just out of the package i loaded up the installer and my roms and sure enough it froze up like the last one on boot. But after reformating this one and reinstalling everything it works fine. So now i have to go about getting my money back for the ebay one but at least i have a memory card that works now. Yeah i can now carry around 6 PSP roms at a time. Ohh and i found the site to contact the guy that makes the ultimate installer so hopefully he can give me an idea of why my sony Chip wasnt working.

Actually, if you like, you can just keep that MS that wouldn't work and use it for ISOs. Just keep a copy of DevHook AND some ISOs on it, but launch DevHook with your other MS first b/c it works. When you want to launch one of the ISOs on the SONY MS, (that didn't seem to work w/ DevHook or w/e) just swap MSs while DevHook is still loaded from your *working MS. Then you will be able to launch the ISOs on your 2nd MS while using DevHook loaded from your 1st MS. The reason I say have a copy of DevHook on the MS that didn't work is b/c you can trick the PSP this way into running DevHook (me thinks), but it's still gonna need the flash from "dh", so...
w/ DevHook, when you swap MSs like that tho, when you put a new MS in, it won't show any ISOs. To fix this problem, just Press "Home + R" and it will start selecting thru the ISOs on your MS.
I think that will work just fine, mate.

Well i would give it a shot but i didnt explain clearly earlier. The sony ms freezes not when booting into devhook but rather when going from devhook to the firm 2.71 dash were you wait for the umd to load. So in order for me to be able to use a swap method of sorts i would have to be able to swap after loading into devhook just before it loads into the 2.71 dash and doing so would cause a failure i believe.

No. Just load DevHook however you get into it. Open the UMD tray tho before DevHook actually auto-launches any game. That will stop it and it will go to 2.71 XMB instead. After you're there, then you can swap any time you want and you won't have to worry about swapping at a certain time.
You should look up how to use Dark_AleX's custom FW. It offers a NO AUTORUN (UMD) feature so you don't have to open the UMD tray to stop it from playing a game and going straight to 2.71 XMB.

Nice idea but unfortunetly no luck. I was able to select an iso for loading however when i tried to run the iso it froze at black screen with the memory chip light blinking at regular intervals. So it seems that perticular chip maybe pretty useless. Thanks for all the help though.

Yes, I've asked Sony, 4GB works on PSP v1.50.
I recently bought a 4GB Sony Pro Duo... MSX-M4GN (apparently, Sony do not have High Speed for 4GB [yet]). Therefore, now I am processing a dispute against the seller for the refund for selling counterfeit. The Duo will have data corruption whenever I get up above 1GB...
Note: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...em=130022884667
Just a warning to buyers buying MS from eBay... I am a victim myself
There is nothing wrong with Sony 4GB Pro Duo.... better buy from Sony Shop...

i recently bought a sony duo 4gb. For some reason i cant operate Devhook on it. It took a while after i got Devhook on it i also put in a few games. I get the start up screen for the game but thats all. Nothing else seems to work. I have a 1gig chip that works fine. My bro has a psp with a 4gb chip. His psp and chip works fine. My chip works in his psp. His chip does not work in my psp.
What do i do?
