PSTwo V14 DVD read shuts down the console

Hi guys.

Probably some one has run into this issue before. I installed a Marspro GM-815 to my PWTwo V14 (GH-041-04) console. It was working fine for a few months but now it does not load up any DVD. Every time I insert a DVD into the console it simply shuts down. If you insert any other game in CD media it works great even if it is a PS2 game rip.

I don?t want to buy a new laser block until I make sure the problem is the laser. I read in other forum that I have to check out the PSTwo fuses first, but I do not know how to measure the current they must have to be in working condition or if they have to measure cero current to determine if they are damaged.

Any one with this issue and found a way to solve it?

you don't need to measure fuses all you have to do is check for continuity. if a fuse is burned then there's no continuity.

Just to update.

I just replaced the laser bloco and now I'm able to play DVD games, but cannot load up backups :-(
