McAffee refuses to leave.

Greetings.
Before I start thanks in advance to all.

My problem is with McAffee security centre, it came as a 90 day trial, and i want to get rid of it, it has been well over nintey days by the way.
But everytime I try, by going to add/remove programs i get errors, can anybody help?
I cannot use a CD as it only came with a reinstallation disc and that just wants to reinstall everything, I tried.

I go to uninstall McAfee, i check security centre as there is nothing else, then
but then i get an error, oh and YES i am administrator.
The error reads:"An error occured while uninstalling Mcafee security centre"

Used to use McAfee till it started giving me fits. Would recommend AVG Free (Grisoft). It is a "Microsoft Anti Virus Partner" according to MS.

If you are feeling gutsy just manually delete the folder where the program is installed. THEN click on Start, Run, and type in regedit and press enter. Look under Edit and Find. Type in mcafee and/or symantec. Remove the entries you find. Leave this program when you are done by clicking on File and Exit. This should make it go AWAY.

Be VERY careful doing this. You can screw up if you are careless. Big time!

YAY!, thank you Rav, comeing to the rescue, as usual, I followed the link and I have fixed the problem, McAffee security centre is gone.

Thank You Rav, appreciate your dedicated help.
Thank You aswell Rulisky aswell, your way was a bit to complicated for me, but I still apreciated your advice.
