Im new to the mod chip scene but recently a friend gave me 3 mod chips so i figured i'd give it a shot. So im not too sure if the ones i have can be used to play back up games or if they serve another purpose, one is an actual modchip that you can load firmware on, the two others are the kind that interface with the dvd drive so that when you use the swap disc and press eject it doesn't reset the system.(what is meant by swap disk?) other than that i really have no other info on them. I have DVD Decrypter and Nero to back up my games but when i tried to play them it keeps saying disc read error. Is there an installation disk that i need for the PS2 modchip b4 i can play the games or what? I have done some research but i figured i'd ask some real ppl who's done it. I know im askin alot but if someone could help me out i would really appreciate it. Thanks.......

first I'd say go take a look on the net for modchips and compare them to the one you have to figure out what mod you have (concentrate on the one that your friend says can load firmware on it as the other two are outdated).
I would guess you haven't installed any mods on your system and going with that then of course the backups you made will not work because you need some kind of modification to your system to get it to play backups.

ok will do......thanks ........the only trouble i might have with that is all 3 look the same. They're all L shaped. I dunno but I'm sure i'll find something on em. Thanks again
