remove video banners from windows live messenger?

hello!

i just want to know if theres a ral way to get rid of those video banners in windows live messenger.. I got the mess patch but all it does is to make the banner invisible but you still get the sounds from the video clips, its real annoying, anyone knows how can you remove them entirely???

i personally ditched msn all-together and swapped over to trillian, then to miranda IM cause miranda uses tiny memory imprint and is very fast operating and feature packed.

but to my knowledge the only way to stop the video banners is to use peerguardian to block contact with hte soruce ip of the advertisements.
