ZCS626......................

no should'nt be any reason you can't back up a back up..........
a few ways you can do it........

1. DvDDecrypter(tool bar on top)> MODE >ISO >READ to HD...
Done >
2. DvDDecypter(tool Bar) >Mode > ISO WRITE to Disk..
Done > Backup copy...................

1.DvDShrink > FULL BACKUP > To HD >
Done >
2. DvDDecypter > MODE > ISO WRITE >
Done > Backup copy...............

Hi ZCS626
Nope you can 'back up' a 'back up'. You can use most burning programs like Nero to do a dvd copy.

What media did you use? Firmware on the drive up to date?

It's most likely due to the media. Back when I had used, unbeknownst to me at the time, CMCs, I've tried backing up those discs with TYs or Verbs, it won't let me. The drive says there's an error. You know how to avoid that?

Don't use crapola media. lol.

If you burned the copy, you should just be able to drag the VIDEO_TS folder on your DVD over to your hard drive to copy. If you cannot copy it or it hangs (i.e., says 120 minutes remaining), then you prbably have been victimized by bad DVD media (or it could be just scratches too). Most people see cyclic redundancy error which pretty much means unreadable. You can search the forum on how to recover the data such as wiping/washing disc of fingerprints and dirt, or more extreme measures like putting disc in freezer or using toothpaste to rub out scratches.

I hear you loud and clear Pink.that is my #1 problem why shrink or Nero wont open some my backups, however ive found dvd fab to be ruthless when it comes to a back ups, that program would chew its way through a barbed wire fence if it could! even tho shrink wont open my 'corrupted' back up, the fab eats it alive and shrink gets the leftovers, the backup now has a glitch, but its usually towards the end of the movie or in special feats or something, shrink then can go to work!
