This is one of the main reasons im getting a PS3. I saw the trailer for it and it looks absolutly amasing!! Anyone else exited about this game coming out? Does any one have any info about it like who this old man is or the story line? Also any links to trailers would be nice.

The old man is suposed to be Solid Snake. I guess it takes place in the future.

Dont let the door hit you on the way out, beacause I dont want ass prints on my new door!

While the trailers have looked absolutely amazing, I hope we get to see some actual gameplay footage at TGS next week. This game will be what pushes the ps3 above the 360, in my opinion at least. CAN'T WAIT!

in an article i read about mgs4, there was talk of raiden and he is actually in the trailer for mgs4. they stated that raiden will be in the game, but not playable. naturally things could change, but that is as far as i know. in the trailer he's the guy with the sword that looks a little robotic. personally i was shocked and not too thrilled playing as raiden.

im not getting a ps3 until this baby comes out. I have played all the metal gears . Metal gear, Metal gear solid 1 - 3, trying to beat metal gear 2. THe story line i think is one of the best, the ending of MGS2 though i found very confusing. But hideo Said all our confusion would be answered in this game. As for Some ingame footage, apparently the new trailer at gamespot is in game footage. If u played an MGS game b4 u know that there is no CG, hideo uses the games graphics engine to make his cut scenes, and its said that this new trailer is the in game footage. Could be lies, but if ps3 is 800 CAN it better look like that trailer lol.

Well if your getting one get metal gear 3 :substinence. It is cheap and it has mgs 1,2 and 3 as well as online play, improved camera angles and a lot more bonus things like movies and so on.

My favourate MGS was MGS1 on PS1 but its a long time ago i remember looking at the start and seeing you left foot prints in the snow and thinking OMG this is amasing. Just shows how games have come on in the last 8 to 10 years. This game looks amasing i cant wait to see some in game footage. I wonder what new moves and tricks ull be able to do in this game. Anyone Know of any of the new stuff in this game

BYW i loved playing as Raiden I prefered his kart wheel jump too snakes rolly polly lol. There must be someone else out there who liked playing as raiden?

i don't really know how true this info is, or if it is really all that new. here it is:

Quote:
Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima was present at this year?s Comic-con in Sand Diego, where he revealed new info regarding Metal Gear Solid 4. He said that the game will be fully playable at E3 2007, and that the MGS4 team is working on 1080p support, something Sony requested.

He also said he was considering new ideas on how to use the new motion-sensing controller, for example, you could ?pull? the controller in order to snap an enemy?s neck. With the game being playable at E3 2007, it?s unlikely that there will be a demo at the Tokyo Game Show later this year, although a new trailer could be released.

there is a new mgs4 trailer on ign, and it has some momments where they show ingame footage. it look very nice, i like some of the gameplay shown, but the graphics were a little sketchy, compared to the slick graphics of the trailer shown at e3.

PS3 specs may look better than xbox 360 but i am yet to see a game on the PS3 that looks better than any of the top end xbox 360 games such as gears of war, mass effect and halo 3.

The old man is Snake, but as you can tell by looking at other characters (Otacon, Meryl, etc.) Snake is the only one that has aged that much. This is due to his genetic outline. Also, Raiden is in the game (I'm not sure if he's playable) but he will be in a cyborg ninja type thing this go round. It actually makes me really want to have raiden as a playable character.

In the new trailer (September 21) at the very end it shows Snake as a younger guy again. Maybe there shouldn't be anything read into this at all, but maybe there is. I don't know, but maybe the whole thing with Snake growing old isn't completely true. Everything said the old man is Snake, but did anything ever say it was Solid? Maybe Big Boss was never killed and it's Naked Snake and we finally get to know the whole story!!!! Not likely, probably some of Kojima's weird sense of humor.
