Hi, I'm new to posting here but I have read many of your great guides and discussions. Problem with reading guides and actually completing the task though. I would like to back-up PS2 games for playing purpose. This is my set-up:

Sony Playstation 2 Version 1-3
Slide Card Tool
Swap Magic 3.6
DVD +or- Burner
DVD-R Phillips 1-8x
Alcohol 120%
DVD Decrypter
Nero 7 Ultra Edition

Alcohol 120% > Image Copy Wizard > Copy Game > Attain MDS and MDF File > Image Burn Wizard > Choose File to be copied > Choose Lowest Speed then Burn

DVD Decrypter > Mode ISO Read > Click Icon to Read > Mode ISO Write > Choose File > Select lowest Speed > Click Icon to Read

Nero 7 > Nero Burning Rom > Click DVD Option in Top Left Corner > Choose DVD Copy (ISO) > Attain Nero Image File > Then Insert Blank Media > Select File to Copy > Then Burn

All of these are what I have been doing, I do own Japanese games which the slide card trick works for and original games boot up fine. So far I have tried to back-up Soul Caliber 3 and GTA Vice City.

Doesn't matter the options the results are always the same after the Swap Magic and Back up switch out I press X on the cotroller, the PS2 inintiates the disc then pops up a "Insert valid PS2 Disc" on the Swap Magic Screen. I tried to be detailed so you would see my fustration and maybe get an idea of whats wrong. Thanks in advance for any help.

Use better media. Those Phillips ones are crap!
I suggest RITEK G05 8x DVD-R

Thank you very much, I was kinda skeptical it would work but it surely did. Unfortunately I couldn't find Raitek in any local stores so I purchased what I have read to be the next best thing, Verbatim. To think all this technology and technique yet a piece of plastic stopped progress. Thanks again.

Everytime I want to burn a disc, I do the following:

Open up DVD Decrypter

Decrypt the PS2 game and store it on the HD

Burn the descrypted PS2 iso and swap like regular

If you're having any problems, just pm me with a screen name of some sort and we can get things figured out.
