Hi Guys,

I was looking on ebay and they have replacement drives from hong kong for sale http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BRAND-NEW-XBOX-360...1QQcmdZViewItem

Im in the UK with a PAL set up and a samsung [ms25] .

Could I buy one of these [HITACHI-LG] and flash it with the xtreme FW then use it to make my backups and play them on the console that has a samsung drive?

If so can anyone tell me if these drives are any good as it says 2005 for manafacture date and I cant realy see a model number that sticks out..

Thanks again

The drives work fine, however you could have bought it from a number of places in the UK for less than half the cost and flahed it yourself. If you download Schtrom360Xtract from here:
http://www.xbox-scene.com/tools-xbox360.php
It will create the whole 360 game image and put the security sectors automatically in the right place for you in about 15 minutes.
All thats left for you to do is to burn the x360 game backup with clonecd

Thanks Man..

A fool and his money eh!!

I cant wait for it to come and it saves me a flash I guess and for sure saves opening the 360 to make our backups..

For us here in the states we have no option but to order it from overseas. Most of the uk retailers won't ship to us and the ones which do are selling the drive for the same price as on ebay. So might be better off buying off ebay... offers a little more protection if it never arrives.

A quick google search found a supplier of the drive in the us
and jusging by their claim to be the "leading supplier of computer components in the us" they should have a fair few in stock

They don't. I've already tried them a few weeks back. They have that drive listed so I ordered it. They then emailed me back saying it's a mistake and they only have the ts-h352a drives. I asked if they have any of the "c"'s as an "a" won't work and they don't.
