i have a hd that is locked from another xbox. does anyone know of a program to unlock the hd? thanks

does the hddunlock program really work on xbox drives an how does it work. i mean can you burn it to a cd and put it in the xbox to unlock the drive i have one also. thanks

This site has a tutorial on how to switch out you're original HDD for a larger one, it also tells you how to unlock / lock you're hdd

do you know can this shut down my computer for good is it safe to use in the computer. All i want to do is unlock a hard drive i have to run through all the step first. I cant just press 3 to unlock a hard drive i dont want to swap hard drives. Thanks but still a little lost sorry.

Do you have your eeprom backup?? If you do you just need to use xbhdm it is alot safer and better i think.

ok im sorry i should have mention this before this is what i have done so i have. So far in the xbox i have a unlock hard drive that i lock to the motherboard but what happen was when re-assembling i cut the wire to. The card (aladdin xt)it self is not flashed yet. i also have another hard drive that i would like to unlock but not sure what to do im trying to get info on what to do im just working of a xbox repair guide.and dont know alot about this the eeprom is not back up.

well you can format the hdd and reinstall the files back onto it like the c:/ and all that good stuff

well i solder the wire back on and when i started the xbox it now flashes red, orange does that mean no contact was made?.when i remove the card from the pinheader it starts up fine

i also have a hard drive from another xbox that i would like to unlock to if i get the card workin can i just swap out hard drives an unlock our is there more to it?. thanks for the ? above as while

you can unlock a drive unless u have the eeprom but you can reformat it

so the modchip alone cant unlock the hard drive from the other xbox with out the eeprom chip from its mother board?. so i would need to hook it up drive to my pc an run an unlock program to unlock it?. and the modchip i have in the xbox now will only work on the motherboard an hard drive thats in it now? im sorry for so many ? im just trying to understand. thanks

oh np on the questions man,but yea to unlock the hdd you would need the eeprom when you soft mod it backs this up so you wouldnt need the chip if you have the back up of the eeprom. If your other motherboad is the same version or is a version that supports your chip you should beable to move it over.

ok i have the eeprom chips still on thier motherboards but the boards they no longer work so i would need to remove the eeprom from the board that dont work an solder it to the board that works to unlock the hard drive right. if so is there no other way i have no real solderin skills.

the only way i know of is to reformat it with a mod chip
