That is correct. If unlocking fails, it'll show "invalid code" or something like that.
Nokia site normally provides free software for certain Nokia phones. I haven't read the specs througoughly but I don't think Nokia 6030 has data port, bluetooth or Infrared. How are we supposed to connect the phone to our PC if there is no such connection? The only connection available is through web access. That costs $ :-(

well i did my reaserch, and there are people that sync/connect their 6030 to pc via USB cable. i just won the auction on ebay for one of those USB cables with drivers... but i think i have to get my own software to make this work. i will post back when i receive my data cable to let you know.
btw the port that you use to sync with the pc is between power plug and head set.

i'm not sure but i think that the USB cable from Kodak digital camer would fit into nokia 6030. unfortunately i don't own any kodac USB cables so i'm out of luck...
i should have gone to BestBuy or other electronic store an just buy Kodac USB cable and if it didn't work i would just return it... and now i might have overpaid for that ebay USB cable.
my 6030b from the bottom:

kodak usb cable:

looks tha same to me

Maybe so... I don't know. According to the following link (need macromedia flash player):
http://nds2.nokia.com/tutorials/support/...lish/index.html
That is a flash connector... for "service suppliers to upgrade software for the mobile phone. In your daily use, please avoid touching the easy flash connector area."
Well... just because they tell us to not use it, doesn't necessarily mean we can't use it. Perhaps someone out there already figured out how to use that connector + usb cable to connect to PC. Let us know how it turns out. Good luck.

today i received the USB data cable that i ordered from ebay. the stuff that i got looks exaclly the same as on the above picture. so installed the drivers, then i installed Oxygen Phone Manager II and it works. software sometimes freez but this is better that than paying for ring tones and pictures.

do you need to download that other software in order to upload songs and stuff?
what about possible flashing your phone, is that a possibility, are you scared?
i am interesting in uploading my own ringtones and after 3 songs the package will pay for its self.
also is there any difference between the on you got and the on here?

i'm using only one program to manage my phone, Oxygen Phone Manager II. this software seems to have many useful features, but it take forever for it to connect to the phone. i don't think i need flash/flexing option because i'm not planing to do that. i use the program to upload my ringtones, grapphics, and custom themes.
there is also MobTime CellPhoneManager but that didn't see my phone so i didn't bother with it, altough it looks more user freandly with almost the same basic features.
when it comes to the USB cable i think that they are the same, so you should be good with that.
report back with your experiance if you decide to buy the cable, it's always better to learn from others mistakes or success.

1. ti usb drivers

3. oxygen phone manager
(in that order)
the cable is recognized by windows xp but the phone is not seen by oxygen. when i plug the cable into the phone, nothing happens. anyone got any ideas?

limby,
i got that also.
what you need to do is when you plug in the usb cable you need it is going to ask you to install 2 files that it needs. that is on the cd in the other folder.
the program is able to read the phone. however i have not figured out how to add a new ringtone onto the phone.
does anyone know?

well i'm using oxygen phone manager 2.8, and inside the program i use the phone explorer to find all folders/categories like sms, mms, phonebook, profiles, etc.
1. to be able to see stuff from your phone you have to read all the data off the phone first.
2. then you choose to what folder you want to add stuff by highlighting it, and then choose add new file, then you brose your computer for the file.
3. when you add file it will be highlighted and then you will be able to write it to your phone.
I.

II. i'm adding a theme that i made

III. you can see the file that i'm tring to add, to add it i just hit write to phone

hope this helps
