I just purchased these two titles and and backed up each to blank media disc for travel. These are the tough ones as far as encryption goes. "Down in the Valley" & "The Lake House" have nothing special on them. I used the latest version of AnyDVD in the backround & Nero 7 Recode2 with no trouble. I recommend "Hard Candy" as a good watch. That movie was sick, again this is recommended viewing and it too has no special encryption. Enjoy:)The ability to back up your movies in one shot with limited time and software "Priceless". Get AnyDVD 6.0.6.3 and you too will be worry free.:P (Shameless Plug).

there was nothing special with the movies that you were talking about i used shrink and dvd region + css free did just movie, also the movie hard candy i thought the movie was great had a great ending, the girl was doing a great service as to geting revenge for her friend and other girls, yes the subject is a rather touchie matter but i thought she did a great job, that is just my two cents, that just go's to show you never trust any one no matter what they look like!

Well DVDFab didn't work with the full disc, it had some errors in the special features(where most errors come from). Would load up right in any shrinker (recode shrink or clone)

But Ripit4me saved the day, had no problems with a full disc on this one.

DVDfab handled the Lake hse by itself tho. Well try Curious George later.

I tried running it thru VOB Blanker and it told me that it did not support a certain type of file. VB said it will blank all files of that type. Wasn't sure about it so I tried Ripit4me and it worked.

I did have AnyDVD but I lost my key and I was unable to update it. My key did not work so AnyDVD support wanted the original email. Unfortunately I had lost my yahoo account and it was saved on there a month prior. Sucks but I gotta rebuy it when I get the funds. Its the top knotch program but I gotta settle for the freebies right now.

Still got my DVDCLone working tho.

I experienced some weirdness with a backup of The Lake House that I made using DVD Fab Decrypter, Vob Blanker, DVD Shrink and Nero.
I got no errors or any indication that my backup would be anything but perfect but when I put it in my set top player I got audio of the previews that I thought I had gotten rid of with Vob Blanker. No video, just audio. Never had that happen before.

So.. not to be defeated I reripped using DVD Fab decrypter with AnyDVD running in the background and then proceeded as I had before and ended up with exactly what I wanted.. a working backup of the movie and special features with nothing else.

@newbies or those needed helps

Like I've said before, The FAST & The FURIOUS TOKYO DRIFT is not hard to rip and backup. Yes, it's true, it has some of the newer protections on it, but it simply is just another piece of cake. DVDFAB + VobBlanker should be able to handle this piece beautifully.

For more info go here (FAST & FURIOUS TOKYO DRIFT guide included) http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/334154

Good luck to all and happy burning.
