anyone know where i can upgrade my psp to 2.71 minus psp hacks cause that sites link dosnt work w/ my psp..

or u could of updated via the psps Network Update feature
my stuff:

man Network Update will upgrade ur psp to 2.80/2.81!!!!if u dont want 2.80/2.81 then dont upgrade vie Network Update!!!

Well i tried to download it from that site but my computer wont open it...it's a PBP file and it just says windows dosnt know which program created it and do i want to use the web to find the appropriate program to open it w/ which dosnt work...
and suggetions?

which fireware r u in now???if u r in 1.5 u can use devhook .44/.45 to emulate 2.71 and play the umd(which i think need fireware more then 2.0 right)!!!well if u know wat u r doin and really want to update then EBOOT.PBP goes to ms:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP
now u will get the update in ur GAME menu

Your not supposed to open it in windows. You have to create a folder in your memory stick. Make a new folder under GAME on your memory stick and call it UPDATE. Make sure all the letters are capital. Then put the eboot you downloaded under the UPDATE folder. Then on your psp go to the game section and you should see something that says "Update firmware version 2.71" or something. Run it and it'll update your PSP to 2.71.

I´m not understanding just a thing...
My PSP is 2.60... if I upgrade it to 2.71 can I play any game from my memory card?
What I have to do? Please, explain to me with details... please

Well no, he upgraded to 2.71 so that he could downgrade to 1.5. In your case you have two options available to you. Either downgrade from 2.6, with an easydowngrader, or upgrade to 2.71 then downgrade without the need of GTA. So its your choice. I dont have the links to the downgraders, but you are smart enough to find them right? :)

i cant seem to upgrade my 2.01 to 2.7
i have tyried loading the eboot file into game but it is corrupt data
i ahve truied the photo way as well but no joy

hey dude u r in 2.01 right?so go to noobz.eu and get the 2.01 downgrader(if u was thinking of going to 1.5)or if wasnt thniking of going to 1.5 then go get the upgrade from http://pspupdates.qj.net or http://psp-hacks.com ur one may be corrupted!!!

if i use the Easy v2.00/2.01 Downgrader to take me stright to 1.5
will i need to use GTA
i read somewhere i have to go up to go down.
this is what i have tried in a little more detail
i have downloaded the file as stated downdater271,
ihave WinRAR the file to my desktop
then i reformated my psp memory stick via the psp settings menu
then i reset default settings on the psp menu.

my psp as the following files in it after reformat
MEMSTICK.IND
MSTK_PRO.IND
MP_ROOT in this folder (1) 100ANV01 (2) 100MNV01
PSP in this folder (1) COMMOON (2) MUSIC (3) GAME (4) SAVEDATA (5) SYSTEM
Know on the tutorial it says to drop the 3 files unwar files into the root directory which on psp the memory card is drive E, so i just drag in there and it will add downdata, and hbin , but over write PSP.
is this correct,
then finally change to photo and click on X
and it should upgrade.
but my memory stick will not flash.
am i doing it right??

Hi do you have messenger ?
i have added the 1.5 firmware
the downgrade starts, the psp screen starts, it goes black then says
the game could not be started (80020148)

I currently have 2.50 on my PSP and I'm trying to downgrade to 1.5 so I can upgrade to 3.03. I downloaded 2.71 se-c and I'm trying to install it, but when I goto the game menu and click on the install icon it goes to the yellow psp startup screen then it goes black. Any suggestions?

You have to downgrade first to 1.50 then upgrade to SE. But you should probally update to DAX's OE instead.
