The episodes for Magnum P. I. only has one title for all 4 episodes about 7Gigs. On most episodes disks each episode has it's own title that makes it easy to split. I know how to do it without menus but I would like to know what the best way to split it and still have my menus.

The best and easiest way to split and still retain a menu is to use CloneDVD it gives you the option to split and then check the box to preserve the menu. If you have not tried it there is a 21 day free trial.

This is one reason I bought Clone because of this ability. I have used it mainly to split up series disks so there is no loss of quality.

You could try VobBlanker and blank out what you do not want and keep the menu.

VobBlanker

Thanks, I am not sure if that will work or not but I will give it a try this weekend. If I can't get it to work I guess I will just back it up without menus.

Will this work if all of the episodes are merged as one title as with Magnun P I. On most episode DVD's each episode has it's own title. Anyway I will try and see.

I've backed up The Soprano's, Deadwood, Oz, Alias etc. movie only with DVD Shrink alone. Each episode is usually about 8 chapters long, I use my remote to skip through the episodes because I've removed all the menus and special features to make room for what really counts...the show. You always have the original if you want to watch the special features.

Yes, I know how to do the show only. Call me silly but I kind of like the shows intro and I don't get that when I reauthor. I may have to reauthor if Vob Blanker doesn't work. Thanks for the info.
I myself have done Voyager and the X-files but for some reason they have merged all the episodes into one title with the Magnum P. I. series.

Yes it will work even if the episodes are one big title. if thats what u meant. heres how
Here is an episode dvd on it that has 6 episodes but they are one big file on the dvd.

so then this box comes up and u blank the episode u dont want, also u can right-click on any of them and preview what it is.

yep, to me VobBlanker is the greatest program for making backup dvds they way u want them, dont backup a movie without it, and its all thanks to Alkohol and his guide that got me started.
