Lame MP3 encoder won't install on XP

I can't install the Lame MP3 codec (LAMEACM.INF) on my XP Pro. Error message: Installation failed. Even removed all programs running in the background before installation. Consequently, VirtualDub doesn't display any Lame parameters. Can anybody please help?

Hi Praetor,
Although "installation failed" flashed up, it did install. I see the parameters, I tested Lame and it now works fine on my computer.
