Running HD without Swap Magic?

Hi everyone. I used a tutorial here on how to copy games onto my external HD and play them on the PS2. Everything was going smoothly, until I realized that I needed Swap Magic. I am not sure if I want to buy it, because all the places that sell it seem a little sketchy. So, I want to figure out if there is anything else I can do to make a boot disc for my PS2 to use with my HDD before I take the plunge and buy Swap Magic. Thanks to anyone who can help.

well u can try the memory card exploit and install hdloader onto ur memory card

and a place u can use to buy swap magic is www.consolesource.com

its the site i used oo btw if advertising is not allowed on these forums then sry and erase this but yea thats it
