Nokia 6030 SIM card question?

is there a way to use this model of phone w/o the sim card because the service provider i want to use doesnt use sim cards. when i take the sim card out it keeps telling me insert a sim card, i beleive the phone is unlocked already, but am not sure.

No GSM phone will work without the sim.
