This movie does not officially release until Tuesday, October 3, so I do not think very many people here have been able to attempt to back-up this movie yet.

What version of AnyDVD are you using? They recently updated it. I think they're up to 6070.

DVDFab usually works. Have you tried the latest version?

Try AnyDVD's ripper. There's also Ripit for me or whatever that program is (haven't used it).

There are plenty of options.

Different release dates for different countries...there are also those who work at video stores and get the movies before they are actually released to the public.

I was so disappointed with this one. You can tell it was a new director. Ratner doesn't belong in a superhero flick.

But that's for another thread. Is there anyway you can post what protection is on this? It'd help out others. I don't really need it because I have AnyDVD but those that back up their movies with free programs need to know in advance.

There is nothing on X-MEN "The Last Stand". Trouble with this one may equate to some sort of user error or foreign downlowd. I would say any decrypting software would allow for one to back up this film. Note: This DVD does have an interesting label: STANFORD_BRIDGE which might mask a virus protection, who knows. I honestly was surprised at the lack of typical encryption considering this film was heavily boot-legged. You think Marvel and it's production associates would have wanted to do more to protect this film? Oh well.:P

Have you tried more than one copy of the DVD. There was nothing about any of the regional releases of X-Men that was outstanding that I've heard of. AD is an international forum, so most things get mentioned. I haven't seen anything at the other large forums either. Region 4 covers a lot of territory. The decryption software is meant for international use as well. So they all should be up to date by now.

Success!

Anyone having trouble with this DVD in Region 4 Try DVD Region+CSS Free with DVDShrink, thanks to the person who suggested it

Interesting. How were the other people in Region 4 getting the job done with AnyDVD and DVD Shrink? Region Free and AnyDVD work the same way (driver type, on the fly decrypters), but AnyDVD has been updated faster in the past than Region Free. That's the only reason I've preferred AnyDVD in the past. RI4M has been doing new releases better than AnyDVD and the DVDIdle products, I'm curious how it failed on an old release that no one seemed to have that much trouble with.
