I have a modded slim ps2 and i need some help with action replay.
I have the action replay max evo april 2006 updated version.
The problem i'm having is that my ps2 is modded so that even if the lid is open, the disc won't stop spinning.
So when i load AR, it goes to the screen that asks me to insert the game or dvd. so i ignore it and proceed to load the AR max evo NTSC ver.
I go to expert mode and choose the cheats i want. I press start and it asks me do i want to load with codes. i say yes.
Now, it says make sure the game disc is in. HOWEVER, the disc doesn't stop spinning, so there's NO WAY i can change the disc at that point.
so the only thing i do is press ok and let it load to the beginning where it asks me to insert the game or dvd. Here it does stop spinning, HOWEVER, when i put in the backed-up dvd game, it says error reading disc.
Anyone have any ideas?

Now im no expert but i just got Action Replay and what your suppose to do is to save the cheats to your memory card and when you put the desired game with the cheats you saved the cheats will work. the disk is not suppose to stop spinning

The AR i have is a burned cd version. How do i save the cheat to my memory card and run the cheat when i put in the desired game?
The only thing this cd version saves is the settings and when i press start to load the game with cheats, it asks me to insert the game, but i can't insert it since it keeps spinning

with the slim ps2, and the mod i have, pressing eject won't do anything, it won't stop the disc from spinning and therefore you cannot swap discs

You know the piece of metal/plastic in the corner above the on/off/reset button that holds the button down, lift that up and the disc will stop spinning. Do this when AR asks you to swap discs, you guys sound really intense. I'm sure this has been covered before?!

I'm having the same problem.
My slimline PS2 is modded using Ghost Clips and when I want to change out the AR Max Evo disc with a burnt game/Swap Magic, the disc won't stop spinning because the sensor that detects when the system's lid is open is deactivated thanks to the Ghost Clip modifications. So when you open the lid, the PS2 has no idea that its open because it still thinks that its still closed, meaning the disc will keep spinning.

I solved the problem. I'm currently using the tissue method until my Slim Tools set arrives (I just need Tool A).
Unlike the key thing, you can't just "lift up" the Ghost Switch because its mounted inside the PS2 (and it doesn't have enough give to manipulate it). I needed a solution where I could easily remove and remount the device without having to open the PS2 (in other words; a modification that would function from the outside of the PS2 and not the inside).
