I'm trying to back up my F&F Tokyo Drift but I'm having problems. DVD Decrypter works great but when I try to use DVD Shrink 3.2 I get the following error: "Invalid Data in File "F:\Fast_and_Furious_Tokyo_Drift\Video_TS\VTS_01_1. VOB.
I tried DVD FAb but got the same error with shrink. I have the newest AnyDVD 6.0.7.0. Any suggestions. Thanks

fxd2002 ,
Try ripping the DVD to the HD using the ripper that is in AnyDVD. Make sure you use the FixVTS option. Then use Shrink.
If that fails then you might have a corrupt .vob on the disk and it needs to be returned for exchange

There must be something else. I got VobBlanker but it will not locate the file "Video_ts.ifo. I have tried looking in dvdfab and where decrypter put the movie also still no file. I'm lost.

fxd2002,
If you have the updated version of AnyDVD you right click the fox head in the taskbar. Look for "Rip The DVD-Video to Hard Disk"

@fxd2002
Well, you'll need to know where (or at least write the Target folder down) DVDFAB ripped the movie into the "Target". That being said, once you launch VobBlanker, you can locate/browse to your already ripped VIDEO_TS.IFO from DVDFAB.
If you seriously don't know where DVDFAB put your movie after it ripped, then to be honest with you, I have no idea where you'd set DVDFAB's Target.
Evidently, I don't think there's any other programs (rippers) that is as simple/easy as DVDFAB Decrypter, especially for newbies.
Good luck.

fxd2002,
If you can not find the VOB or ifo do a search of the HD. Search for .vob. If it was ripped to the C: Drive it will be there. If not search the other drives if you have more than one.

My cousin had the same problem with the Tokyo Drift DVD.
I haven't tried ANY DVD yet, so that remains to be seen.

Just use Ripit4me and it solves it all.

Well I have looked and looked and did a search of the HD. There are no .vob files or the Video_TS.IFO file. I know where DVDFab ripped it to also where DVDdecrypter ripped to. No luck. It's like it didn't rip those files. Both ripped the entire? movie as normal but shrink and anything else can't find those specific .ifo or .vob files. Im trying to rip it from AnyDVD now and I wait and see. What are the chances I have a currpted DVD? Thank

I think the chances are good that you have a corrupted DVD, in light of a recent poster that said their copying of Tokyo Drift went fine.

glad you got a good backup. wondering if you had AnyDVD running in the background when you used dvdfab? that will create conflicts, though it shouldn't make your output file disappear. ripit4me should do the job as well, and it also needs to have AnyDVD disabled to avoid conflicts.

Did this one last night (movie only) using AnyDVD and CloneDVD2. I will tell you that there was an update on each of these programs in an email right before I started. I updated both, and no problems. I know a lot of people like using other programs, and some work and some don't, but I find these 2 to be the easiest for me. Sometime though, I really should learn how some of the other programs work -- just in case. Good Luck.
