Ok,so i have my 360 and what not,and now i've decided to backup games, and i've been looking around,I found the way that requires me to open my 360 every time and connect it to my mobo takes to long and could possibly damage my 360.Then i was looking at hotswap, which i was considering, but then gave up on since i'd have to go buy a big dvd movie like disk 2 from 24,which is around $150 for me,so no go..Then i found this new method.OK,all prices stated are in New Zealand dollars($nz)...So all i have to do is,get my 360 firmware flashed(i have a samsung drive)with xtreme firmware 3.3...this will cost me $50,then I need to buy a samsung dvd drive(not sure on the model)It has been hacked and changed the firmware I think,so that it will automaticly read xbox 360 games, then use xbox backup creator to make the backup of the game(not sure if it's an iso)Then i just need a dual layer writer, to write the game to a blank verbatim dl disk. Then insert into my 360,and it will play the backup,is this correct?

Also can anyone reccomend a dvd dl writer to use to actually copy the game?

Actually, you can flash your Samsung drive yourself. It's fairly easy to do and absolutely free if your computer has SATA. Since you have the Samsung, I'd suggest the Pioneer 111d drive as your DVD+DL Burner. You can get it on newegg.com for like 35 bucks (US Dollars). Not sure if they ship to NZ or not.

I'll be able to find the the dvd dual layer writer anywhere in nz stores, don't worry...My pc has SATA,but firstly,i really do not want to ahve to open my 360,i'd rather get a store to do it for me(that also gives me a garuntee on my 360's dvd drive) and another thing,my pc is new i don't want to waste it's garuntee,so yeah....But is this method full-proof,or should i what another few months for something better?

Check the manual for your motherboard if you have it. If you know what model of your motherboard you have, but don't have the manual, check their website.

You could also use software such as PC Wizard http://www.cpuid.com/pcwizard.php to identify your motherboard, and find out if it has SATA support.

Actually, even though you have to flash the drive inside your X360 to play copied games, you do not need a SATA controller in your PC to copy games. The Samsung SH-D162 model which has an IDE interface will do just fine. I found it on Pixmania:

http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/316097/a...d-player-b.html

You need to flash it first, but once you do, you will be able to use it both as a conventional DVD-ROM drive as well as a X360 games reader. Now, as far as the drive inside your X360 is concerned, it may be a Hitachi GDR-3120L or a Toshiba TS-H943. For both of those drives, as well as for the above mentioned IDE drive, you can find hacked firmware in practically any Torrent site (use the links found in the BitComet utility). You do not need a SATA controller in your PC to connect the X360 drive either. I used this very cool gadget:
