Xbox 1.6 Help Required

got a Xbox 1.6, aladdin chip installed, plays dvd/cd games from disk and saves to hard drive.the saves are accessed by the games.
When i go to hard drive to access games none listed,when i access anything from hard drive from the dashboard it says Loading and hangs.
I have reformatted installed new dash but still the same, its as though the disc drive knows its there but the console doesnt see it.
Do i need a new chip, it plays games from discs,but not from hdd,also i tried new hdd its still the same.
Can anyone advice, i have scoured the forums and net but to no avail.

...what?
You're ripping the games to the hard drive, right? Not just trying to play them on the hard drive after a game save has been created?
You have to use dvd2xbox or something similar to rip the game to the hard drive before you can play it. Game saves are just saved games that record your progress in a game...
What dashboard are you using anyway?

yeah im ripping the games to the hard drive,but when accessing the hard drive through the dash i clik on em and they lock/freeze. so i end up rebooting and back to square one.

sorry dash is evolution x , i tried playing dvd movies from dash also the lock as well.

EvoX? Try using a different dashboard and see if you get better results. Generally speaking, EvoX works great, but it's outdated and there are far better alternatives available.
Try using XBMC, Avalaunch, or UnleashX and let me know how it works out.
If anything, I suggest at least having those as applications as each one has features that the others don't. I recommend installing XBMC over anything though since you can use that to play DVDs and pretty much anything else on as well.

I uploaded a new dashboard unleashx and its still the same its as though hdd accepts commands but cannot carry out the actions it just hangs.
Could it be a faulty chip,although i can play games from dvd/cd.
Its a puzzler.

im using qwix to rip and flash fxp, i have uploaded games to hd and when i try to play from hdd it hangs at loading,i have formatted the drive put new dashes on but the hdd is not responding,i cannot play dvd from hdd,but i can change my dashboard piccy,i am puzzled i think its the chip maybe knackered or damaged but dont want to buy new chip if its not!
if the xbox is internally damaged i dont know but i can play games from dvd, although recently a few will not load.
my main worry is if its a damaged chip or something else,i recently replaced the hdd but its the same,hangs at the loading stage.

use qwix to Send the ISO(game) to the HD not FlashFXP.....

yes thats wot i do,and flash for looking on xbox directories.
but still cannot play games from hdd.
