Hi people, i want someone to answer a couple of questions about transferring ps2 saves from my pc to ps2 memory card using cd-r.

Q1: Can this be done with a matrix infinity chip? (i have this)

Q2: What program or programs do i need to do this(Nero, alcohol120%, savebuilder)?

Q3: What is the deal with different ps2 save file types?

Q4: Is there anything else besides the things above that i need to complete this process?

Any help i can get would be much appreciated as i am a total novice when it comes to these things but i have a couple of games that i just can't finish and i want all the GOODIES...

A1. No idea, but the easiest way to transfer saves is to use a cheat devices' memory manager & a USB Flash device (a MP3 player can also be used). Cheat devices that support flash drives are; Xploder v5 Pro, AR MAX & Codebreaker v9+ (best).

A2. No program is needed for the above, if you download the correct save type for the device you're going to use. (See answer 3.)

A3. Different save file types for different cheat devices.
.cbs = Codebreaker game save, .xps = XPort save, etc..

A4. http://www.ps2savetools.com has a program to convert one save type to another. You may need this if you cant get hold of a save in the format you need for the device you're going to use.
