is it possible to tell which dvd drive i have in my xbox with out opening it? also can i use my mad dog 16x DL burner to burn xbox games?

Since You said XBOX - This is for an XBOX360.

to burn xbox360 backups - u need a Pioneer 111D and Verbatim DVD+R DL Discs

and a Firmware Flashed xbox360.

well im new to the buisness. I cant fit one of those to my hard drive...as i have a sony vaio computer...lets just say thers not enough space to fit in a internal drive.

Is there any drive i can use which lets me back-up games and is external e.g. USB.
