Since you state you have AnyDVD, make sure you're using the current version found here;
http://www.slysoft.com/en/download.html

Is the problem with ripping the DVD to your HDD or burning the video file/s to disk?

If it's ripping to the HDD that's the problem, then what error are you getting?

If it's burning to disk, then what application are you trying to use and how?

Use Anydvd and believe

Thauglor,
Use the ripper function in AnyDVD and rip the Disk to the HD. Make sure you let it use FixVTS to correct the structural problems and then use Shrink to compress.

If the errors are CRC then clean the disk real well and re-try the rip. If that fails then the disk might be a bad mastering press and you need to exchange it

I tried to use AnyDVD and dvdshrink on Curious George and The Wild tonight. I never have problems with CRC errors. But both movies failed with crc errors using dvdshrink. Both DVD were like brand new without any scratches too. These were the last 2 dvd's I tried to backup.

Any ideas?

Use VobBlanker after the rip and before using Shrink. Your error can be caused by structural problems that are on the DVD

An update.....I found that AnyDVD had a new version of their software on their website. I downloaded the trial version and installed it and it solved my CRC problems.

I can't seem to burn curious geoge either. DVD Shrink says "programming error-exception occured The parameter is incorrect", what does that mean and what do I do fix it? I updated my AnyDVD yesterday, and the disc is new.

If you have the current version of AnyDVD then right click the fox head in the lower right taskbar and go to Rip DVD-Video to Hard Disk"

I started to backup the whole disk and then changed my mind and did movie only. No problem encoding with shrink and burning with imgburn with latest version of AnyDVD running in background. During my analyzing of the whole disk, shrink paused for a few seconds and lo and behold there was our famous boy running in his shorts. This may be the reason for the problems doing full backup.

I was so ugly when I was a kid, my parents used to take me everywhere just so they wouldn't have to kiss me goodbye.

bigwop,
Thanks for the info and that is why we suggested that you use VobBlanker or Fixvts as they correct the structure problems

Hi marki86
There's a button on the top of Shrink "re-author". Click on that. In the next screen on the left side you can find the video_ts folder under your drive. Under Main Movie - drag over Title 1 to the left. Then click on the compression settings tab to remove any unwanted audios.
Then click backup as usual.

Here's a guide too:
