I hope this is in the right section.My problem is that my PS2 Ver3 will load most all DVD format discs but will not load most CD formatted discs, can anyone tell me what my problem might be?? My console is straight stock, no mod chips or any parts ever replaced.Thanx.

The cd reader of the lens is most likely failing. Try cleaning the lens with some rubbing alcohol & a cotton bud/swab/Q-Tip. You will need to gain access to the lens to do this. See if that improves the situation.

Actually, Im sorry I didnt mention that, I did clean the lens with a q-tip and alcohol.Before it didnt play anything then after cleaning it just doesnt play the CD discs

Im sorry for double posting but I just thought that I should just add that my PS2 makes a clicking sound just before it loads a game.That is actually how I know a game is gonna work, by hearing the clicking.
