ZCS626 ,
What you are wanting to do is to do a Disk-copy like lxfactor suggested. If a disk has already been copied you can use DVDDecrypter in .iso mode> read > to copy the DVD to HD and then iso mode > write the image to the DVD. If you are have errors then the disk you are trying to copy is bad ( too many errors on it) and that is why it will not copy. Using DVDDecrypter the program will tell you if you have any read errors. If so then you have to re-rip the original DVD and process accordingly

if there there to many errors on you backup you won't be able to make a backup of your backup, at least you are using a better media, always rember to burn at the slowest speeds and no multitasking, also if you want to just make a backup of your backup, here are some good programs to use as in burning, Nero, ashampoo, Blindwrite, you can do a copy disk and this should work just fine, hope this helps, good luck happy burning have a nice day

What's the brand name/model #/and firmware version of your burner?

Dvd players can get through those errors, and may not even show a flaw. But,when you are trying to re-rip a copy, you'll need every bit of data or you'll error out.

If you can't re-rip your own backups, something's wrong.

You'll need to make that first copy with as little errors as possible:

Quality media
Quality drives
Standard 4x or 8x burn
Backup target of 4360 mbs or less
Low compression
No mult-tasking
Reliable burn engine-that works for your drives.
No paper/sticker labels.

If I can't re-rip a backup copy, they are of no use for me. I've ran into that scenario a few times. Burning MCC=004 media too slow at 2.4x and backups from my HP640c drive. Some drives put out backups with many errors-my HP/Khypermedia/and I/O magic.Firmware update may help. Some drives perform better at a faster burn speed, like my benqs.

Burn engines can also factor in. Nero gives me the best results,as apposed to ImgBurn/ dvd decrypter/and sonic.

That sounds like a compatability issue. Try switching to the dash format if possible. Your drives may prefer the dash format.

You may even want to give Nero a shot.

@ZCS626 Some forms of encrypted material can transfer on to the duplicate from the origianl disc and make it difficult to back up a given copied disc. I've seen this happen most recently with the DVD title Chicken Little. Make sure your using the latest in decrypting software like AnyDVD or RipIt4Me, to lessen this chance. I often here references to firmware upgrades as solutions. I have never had the need to upgrade firmware though doing so has it's benefits, I guess? Use quality media i.e. SONY or VERBATIM or whatever has been proven to be quality media in your region of the world. -R quality DVD media so far has proven to better in my experience. I've noticed that even with quality media, +R media can glitch, freeze, or pixelate (partially excluding +R Dual Layer).:P

ZCS626,
The above members gave you excellent advice. Go to the url below and it will also give you an explanation of why you sometimes get problems trying to copy a copy of a DVD ( unencrypted). It has to do w/ the ifo and bup compression Shrink and Nero and some of the other 1 click programs do to the files. Go to " TECHNICAL INFORMATION REGARDING 32K GAPS" at the bottom of the page. Although I have never had your problem the article is worth keeping as Blutach does know what he is talking about. This is also why I am using PgcEdit more to do Movie only DVD's
