My ps2 has been working just fine since i bought it however many years ago, but just last night, i turned it on and it wasn't working right.
the green light on the power/reset button works, but the blue light on the open button doesn't, but the system powers on when either button is pressed. the disc tray won't open with the button is pushed, however, and the ps2 won't load (meaning the disc doesn't begin spinning). I've taken the ps2 apart, made sure all the wires were still connected, and they are.
any help would be much appreciated.

Have you tried removing the power cable and leaving it to stand for about an hour or so before plugging it back in. There is no way for it to suddenly die, particularly the earlier made PS2s. I know my Slimlines going to die within 1 year X_X
