I have been using this program a lot recently (in file mode) to copy my old DVDs, that in the past I stupidly put labels on. When scanning the read rate often drops to zero, and I get some read errors, but DVD Decrypter keeps trying until it eventually finishes (sometimes taking several hours). This is all good, but I reformatted my PC yesterday, and now when it has tried a few times, it just stops and comes up with the I/O error box asking me if I want to abort, retry or ignore.
Is there an option or setting I've missed to make it not give up trying?

open DVD Decrypter, click on tools--->settings--->device tab
change your hardware error retries from 2 to the maximum of 20.
If that doesnt work your old dvd may be cactus

It's already set at 20... It isn't the disc, it now happens with every difficult disk I have... Before the reformat, Decrypter had as much difficulty copying these disks with labels, but it kept working to get past these difficulties... It now just gives up and I keep having to press retry.

Some DVD drives get a bit testy with labeled media. Try a new/different drive.

Yeah I understand this, and expect problems... But before I formatted my hard drive, although decrypter encounter problems, it would keep retrying until it worked past them. Now, it gives up after between 20 and 50 tries...

Nothing as extensive as your prob. but, I've had success with switching to another drive. Those are read errors. Could be corrupted DVDDC files I guess. What happens if ya use shrink alone to read? Same read errors?

Yeah, it's fine... I'm really not looking for another way to scan bad disks, or reasons for why they don't copy properly. I just want to know how to keep decrypter going... whatever the disc...

Chronic failure before and after the re-format. Another way of ripping might just possibly rule out a Hardware Read issue. But, it might just be a new Frisbee collection.

Yeah, and since they sacked me as admin, prob should remove anyway!
If I keep clicking retry, it eventually finishes (can be anywhere from 1 hour, to 1 week!). This is what I want to stop having to do... clicking retry, I just want decrypter to keep retrying itself, like it did before my reformat...
