first of all are you sure your drive is fried?? what is it doing? and if it is fried hopefully you have the original bin file for your drive because you are gonna have to reflash the new drive with your original drive key. kind of like when you flash it with extreme firmware with samsung. need anymore help just let me know

No I don't have the original firmware backed up. I'm a stupid idiot and to impatient for my own good I was trying the 2 wire teick to get the drive in mode b and fried it I'm sure it will not do anything not even open and close. I tried the slax method first a few times but it would not work and instead of taking the time to order a connectivity kit or waiting to get a resistor ar the shack I went ahead and tried the 2 wire trick and I think I fried it. In my defense though I was not aware of the connectivity kit until I was in the process of trying to flash the drive or I would of ordered it in a heartbeat along with the rest of the stuff I ordered to accomplish this task anyway. Please advise of what I will need to do to fix this please. I know I can order a replacment drive but I need the code first is their a way to get the code off a dead drive or can this drive be repaired? I have since bought another 360 but man it would be nice to fix this one for backups.

Thanks Joe,

Good luck to you Joe,

I know you can get a new drive from ebay.

There is a lad on the Xbox hacker BBS site called Stu I think..
I know he can take the chip off the dvd drive and has fixed many a bricked drive, perhaps someone could get your origional FW from your drive this way?

i am sorry to say man but without the original .bin file your 360 is useless, especially if it won't even open or close, when you were doing the 2 wire trick did you lift the tabs on the end of the connector where the wires are?? if so did you ensure all wires are connected and everything because the drive just might not have power, and when you turn your 360 on does the little light in the middle of the ring of light flashing like crazy??
