I found ADR pathcer with a modified patch file for Scarface. I was able to patch the ISO without extracting anything. I got it from another forum (not sure if I can post links to other forums without breaking the rules). But, the forum is related to PS2 and hd. (hint hint). Anyway, the patched ISO was transferred to my PS2 via HDL_dumb and it works like a charm. Mode 1 and 3 are on.

~Rich

PS. I'm using HDLoader 0.8b.

Do you have to rebuild the dvd if you are jsut transfereing it straight from your computer to the HDD. Because i edited the .cnf file and transfered directly to my HDD and it will not boot up on hd advance 3.0. I tried using modes 1 and 3 which did not work. Any suggestions?

id reccomend the patch posted back a few posts ago

and not to edit it manually

you just need the iso and not to open or edit it

but...

one my ps2 hdd it freezes on the missions

so will wait for 1:1 copy for PAL

Having real problems getting this to work on the HDD.

Have tried 2 methods, i have patched the iso, burned 2 DVD, copied to HDD, modes 1 & 3, but that wont work for me.

I have also tried the (1) in the notepad method, burned to dvd, copied to HDD modes 1 & 3, but i cant get any joy out of that either?

Shall i just give up with it, or is there something blatent that i am doing wrong?

Any help is much appreciated.

Jim

if the iso is on ur pc

use the patch

it will fix it within 5 mins..

then just burn it to ur ps2hdd or dvd in mode 1 and mode 3

but warning...

during the 2nd level it may freeze like it did to me

Cheers for getting back so quickly, ive been messing about with it all afternoon, sorted it now tho. I was putting (1) in the system file, as it states on the first page, i wasnt getting any joy with that, so i just tried it without the brackets i.e. just 1. Rebuilt it, and copied it onto a DVD, converted to HDD, with modes 1 and 3 enabled, and hey presto, we're in business.

Thanks for all the advice in this thread, i got there eventually.

Try over in the XBox forums. They wold be better to help you.

As far as freezing. I played all the way through the entire story. Never froze. Is everyone experiencing this freezing, or just a select few?

ok i've rebuilt the iso by putting SLUS_211.11;1 instead of SLUS_211.11;
The game started but after the trailer i got this message saying "there is a problem reading the disk. check the disk or reset the console." Then i press X and it just keeps on loading. wtf is wrong ???

I have Toxic OS on my chipped ps2. Is there nothing I can do to get this game to work on my system. I just want to know before I go through the hassle of changing the files just to find out it wont work.
Thanks
