SMS has 100 pack of silver thermal Taiyo-Yuden 8x DVD-R (TYG02) for $29.99 w/ free shipping.

-Do you believe you own your computer and shouldn't be told what you can run and do? Then say *NO* to Microsoft Vista!
-Since half the questions here involve media problems, here ya go: Only use Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden discs (get your TYs from Rima.com, not Supermediastore or meritline). Forget the rest, no matter what "brand" they sell under. Always burn at 4x speed regardless of the speed rating of this discs or your drive. If you have burn problems with these then you have to update your drive's firmware. For double-layer discs, only use Verbatim DVD+R DL and burn them at 2.4x speed.

Hmmm, where are you located, Pahick?
Every time I go to staples, they never have MIJs. I'm in NY.

I went to Hanover,PA Staples tonight and there were 6 50 packs MIJ there. All DVD-R.Left there and ran across the street to Walmart to check them out, and there were 2 50pk there, also MIJ DVD-R, but I couldnt tell for sure if they were TY's cause they all had a sample Blu-ray disc in the top, which blocked me from seeing if the octagon spacer was inside :(

How about Best Buy's Special - Memorex 15-Pack DL DVD+R Discs for $24.99? I didn't have much luck with Fuji's DLs... Only a few worked in my little portable player. Also, who is the manufacture of Office Depot's DLs? Are they good?
Thanks!!!

In mine & many other's opinion, the only "quality" dual layer media available is Verbatim DVD+R DL.
Edit: I would not waste good $ on questionable DVD+R DL Media.
Use the good stuff!
Use The Best Media for The Best Burns! TYs, Verbs,(Made in Taiwan) Sony MIJs (YUDEN000 T02), Sony Made in Taiwan DVD+R 16x, Maxell MIJ, RITEK G05.

Well I didn't find any MIJ in my local Staples. So I took the ad to Sears and got 8 DVD+R spindles of the MIJ's. I got a price match and the good thing is they price matched to 110%. I'm pretty sure if you go to your local Sears, you might find a treasure of them.

Hello Guys,
Havent being here in awhile but I do need some advice from you guys. I just bought the samsung 182m drive because its reall cheap and i havent play with the lightscribe before and thought it might be worth a try. The question is how often does the lightsribe media go on sale?? The only sale right now seems to be the micro center's 15 pack of HP for 7.99. I would like to know if thats a good deal or should I just wait for the Verb to go on sale at the Best Buy??
thanks

I've heard mixed things. No personal experience though. Hopefully others can comment.

I've never ordered from them ( Rima.com) but have'nt heard anything bad about them here ! They've always been mentioned with Supermediastore.com & meritline.com as being a good retailer !I've ordered from both of the others though without any problems whatsoever ! food for thought !Ciao!

What some people will do for TY disc! I went to 2 Office Depot stores yesterday looking for the Sony -Rs MIJ that are on sale for $12.99 for 50. Not only did neither store have the MIJs they did not have any Sony 50 disc at all in -R or +R. they had signs up temporary out of stock. How can u be out of stock on a sale item? So I drove 10 miles to the only staples near me and it was a trip worth making. They had a display with about 60 packs of the Sony -Rs and I went through all 60 and found 3 MIJs, of course I bought all 3.
