initially this incompatibility really used to bother me a lot to the point of despair
but then i asked this question to myself
would i have really enjoyed this movie any better if it were on a + disc or - disc?
well the answer is no.
i just use any disc that is compatible.
of course you will end up wasting some discs initially but then stick to ones that work

I have tried all sorts of things when i was naieve. It is impossible to garantee 100% compatibility. howmuchever hard you try, you can never be 100% sure, even if you are a computer geek.

history is repaeting itself more than once
the entertainment industry has not learnt its lessons
first there was vhs and betamax
then DVD + and -
now we have Blue ray and high definition disc

I see no solution to this problem
who cares anyway its not worth
you might bang your head against the wall
again not worth it

If you have about £1000 to spend on a blu ray drive and £25 per disk then fine - knock yourself out! But for the rest of us i think we are just happy using Dvd +-r's and Dl's...

Just a question, have you tried using CloneDVD 2? You can try it FREE for 21 days. Since it is very different than Nero. I would try it & see if your burner will write to DVD-R with it. What do you have to lose? I am betting it will write to DVD-R with CloneDVD 2. Latest version from Slysoft's site. Use default settings, uncheck any audio languages not needed to get the quality meter close as possible to 100%, definitely uncheck DTS if there.

Well, if you have a DTS audio compatible player, I am sure it's great, however, it Does use a lot of space in the movie back up. I always uncheck it to help the compreiion ratio, and I do not have a DTS player either.

I'll take DTS audio everytime! It's just sooooooo much better than the normal Dolby surround. And when I want quality...... I'll just use DVDRebuilder Pro w/CCE! that's the way to go!
